The legend of wine ( listen )
Johanneli is said to have been the first innkeeper on the Brigerberg in the 17th century. After closing time, she would secretly fill the wine barrel with water. One evening, when a guest caught Johanneli in the act, she was banished from the village. She was never seen again. At the time, it was said that she would remain forever as a lost soul in the glacial waters to atone for her grave sin. But since the Aletsch Glacier began to melt, it is said that Johanneli has been freed. Presumably, that's why the wine is available again, only this time it is said to be cleansed of her guilt.
Johanneli Fi Heida Paradis AOC VS
A brilliant, clear, bright golden yellow in the glass. The raisin-like grapes exhibit high residual sweetness and a rich overall extract. The bouquet is opulent, revealing a broad array of aromas such as sweet white blossoms, a hint of jasmine, and blossom honey. On the palate, a full-bodied fruitiness with plenty of extract is evident, along with papaya and a slightly earthy note. The pronounced fruit sweetness is very pleasantly balanced by a agreeable acidity.
