Legend about the wine

How beautiful it must have been back then in the "Lost Valley", which lies behind the Matterhorn, the "Hooru".

Long before the first tourists dared to climb Monte Rosa, hunters from Zermatt passed these lonely places. Some of them talked about having seen a big green valley in the middle of the glacier - a real paradise! God had especially taken this valley into his protection and saved it from evil spirits. So that this area would never be covered with eternal snow.

The golden rays of the sun danced on the grapes of the vines and bathed the cherries, apples and plums on their trees in a glorious light. The most beautiful flowers bloomed in the meadows, and the chamois romped boisterously in free play in the fresh grass. Marmots came out of their caves and whistled merrily, hares and foxes played with their pine cones under thousand-year-old Swiss stone pines, and there were also many other animals in this area.

They all lived in perfect peace. Alpine roses, gentian and black vanilla orchids exuded a beguiling scent and this spread in this place where for a long time no human had ever been. But curse the hunter who one day dared to disturb this silence, this peace, with a shot from his hunting rifle. He paid for it with his life. But since then nothing has ever been the same again. Since then, according to the legend, this "Lost Valley", this paradise, only reveals itself once in every seven years and only to the one who is truly free from sin. But the delicious juice, which is extracted from the vines of this paradise, can be enjoyed year after year here in our wine cellar.
