The legend about the wine
A young man from Gletsch, who was not blessed with worldly goods, wanted to marry his sweetheart. In order to be able to build a house for himself and his bride, he looked for work with a winegrower further down the valley.
His master asked him one day why, despite the hard work in the vineyard and in the wine cellar, he always had a song on his lips and whistled merry tunes. The young man answered him: “When I think of my beloved, my heart bubbles with joy and until I can be with her, I give all my love and longing to the vines!” "Then let these grapes become a very special wine for your wedding," said the winegrower and showed the young man how to make a sparkling wine.
And so even today, people still talk about this fabulously dazzling wedding feast and the exquisite sparkling wine, whose bubbles danced happily on the tongues of the wedding guests, making them laugh and sing.
